MALDIVES 3/3 - NEW YEAR'S CONCERT IN VIENNA? WE PREFER THE MALDIVES

I think everyone has heard at least once about the legendary New Year's concerts held since 1939 in the Great ("Golden") Hall of the Wiener Musikverein in Vienna, played every year by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. But has anyone wondered whether it is possible to transfer an intimate version of this event to a small island in the middle of the Indian Ocean? The answer is - yes, it is possible! With our quartet, anything is possible! 😀

During the first day of the new year 2025, we played a New Year's concert, during which we performed the greatest and most famous pieces played during the New Year's gala in Vienna - polkas and waltzes by Johannes Strauss, including On the Beautiful Blue Danube and the famous Radetzky March. However, we did not limit ourselves to the Strauss family, because the concert repertoire also included two Hungarian dances by Johannes Brahms, the daring tango Jealousy by Jacob Gade, the lively Csárdás by Vittorio Monti and many other works 🎻

After the New Year's concert, it was time for 2 farewell concerts - just as we started our concerts with an aperitif as part of dinners served by chefs from the JRE organization, we ended our adventure in the Maldives in the same way 🏝

We would like to thank Mrs. Sara - the lovely owner of the Diamonds Resort & SPA hotels and resorts, who provided us with accommodation and delicious meals at her resort. We would also like to thank the very nice couple of managers of Thudufushi and Arthuruga resorts - Jacop and Carla, who helped us at every step and perfectly organized each of our concerts 🥰
