Warsaw, POLand - GOETHE-INSTITUT

MUSIC OF THE ALTRA VOLTA QUARTET IN THE AUDIOBOOK "A JOURNEY INTO THE LAND OF CHILDHOOD. A MEETING WITH SILESIA" BY HORST BIENK - KLAUDIUSZ KAUFMANN AND ALTRA VOLTA!

Thanks to our friend, the excellent film actor Klaudiusz Kaufmann, we were invited to cooperate for the third time by the Goethe-Institute of the German Republic in Warsaw. This time, our task was to co-create music for an audiobook by a German-language writer, a native Silesian from Gliwice, Horst Bienek (1930-1990). In the book "A Journey to the Land of Childhood. Meeting with Silesia", he describes his memories from 1987 of a two-week stay in Silesia, which he visited again after 42 years.

The following pieces were used in the audiobook:

-"Mondnacht" the main theme of the audiobook composed by Marcin Dzwonowski to a poem by J. von Eichendorff (J.Dzwonowski/J.Heczko/A.Marko-Lech/M.Lech). Sung by Klaudiusz Kaufmann in the finale.

And the pieces that appeared in the "Gliwice Tetralogy":

-"Prelude in E minor Op.28 no. 4." Fryderyk Chopin, arrangement Jacek Dzwonowski (J.Dzwonowski/J.Heczko/A.Marko-Lech/M.Lech)
